Door Glass Replacement for International RH Series 2018-2025

The Quirks of the RH Series Door Panel
The door panels on the 2018-2025 International RH Series are sturdy, but they hide a lot of wiring. You cannot just rip the interior panel off. You have to carefully disconnect the power window switches and mirror heating controls before getting to the guts of the door. Here is what I always look out for when I open one up:
- Window Regulator Check: Sometimes the initial impact damages the metal tracks. I always test the regulator mechanism before dropping the new glass in to make sure the motor isn't grinding.
- Weather Stripping: Canadian winters are harsh. If the rubber seals are torn from the break, cold air and moisture will leak right into your cab. We check the seals every time.
- Glass Clean-up: Tempered glass shatters into thousands of sharp little cubes. If you do not vacuum out the very bottom of the door shell, you will hear a maddening rattle every time you hit a bump on the 401.
How We Handle the Replacement
First, we safely remove the interior trim and peel back the vapor barrier without tearing it. Next, we clear out every single piece of broken glass from the shell and the tracks. Once the channels are completely clean, we slide the new OEM-quality door glass into place, bolt it securely to the regulator, and test the up-and-down motion. We adjust the alignment so the window rolls up tight and square against the upper weather seal.
Don't Ignore the Small Stuff
A lot of guys try to do this themselves and end up snapping the plastic retainer clips that hold the door panel to the frame. When that happens, the door panel vibrates at highway speeds. We carry spare clips specifically for International trucks so everything goes back together tight and quiet.
